Mary E. Repko Garger
Mary E. Repko Garger, age 87, of Nemacolin, Pa., died Friday, March 31, 2006, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born March 18, 1919, in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Joseph Repko and Maria Farkus Repko.
Mary and her husband, Joseph Garger, operated restaurants in New York City for many years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church in Nemacolin and the Carmichaels Senior Citizens, Carmichaels, Pa.
Mary enjoyed cooking and shopping.
She loved animals, especially her cat, Suzie, and extending her generosity to those in need.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Stephen Repko and John Bokat, and sisters, Margaret Bizub, Mary Bizub, Ann Varto, Kathryn Terescik and Dorothy Udovich.
She is survived by two children: Stephen Garger, Spokane, Washington, and Elizabeth Garger and her husband Christian Dewailly, Lake Placid, New York; and sisters: Helen Yandura and Irma Cormack both of Nemacolin, Pa.
Friends will be received in the PAUL MICHAEL LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320 (phone: 724-966-5100) today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, April 3, until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church, Nemacolin, with the Rev. Father Michael Suslowicz as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 7 p.m.
