Thacilla B. “Birdie” Hunt Hucik
Thacilla B. “Birdie” (Hunt) Hucik, age 75, of Uniontown, Pa., went to be with her Lord and Savior and be reunited with her loving husband on Friday, March 31, 2006. She was born on October 18, 1930, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Thomas B. Hunt and Fidelas (Richter) Hunt.
Her parents, husband, Thomas S. Hucik, son, Rodney T. Hucik, brother, Terry B. Hunt, sister, Jane Gaskill, and step-mother, Mary J. Hunt Legat preceded her in death.
“Birdie” was a graduate of North Union High School Class of 1948.
She was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
“Birdie” had a great love for cooking, baking and feeding her family.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Luan F. Hucik of Uniontown, Pa., and Lisa S. Kranker and her husband, Frank, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two granddaughters: Lisanne Kranker and Klaire Kranker both of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine brothers and sisters: Thomas B. Hunt II of Ohio, Mary Lou Horne of Uniontown, Pa., Ruth Stark of Carmichaels, Pa., Timothy B. Hunt of Ohio, Thompson “Tom” Hunt and his wife, Jean, of Vanderbilt, Pa., Todd B. Hunt and his wife, Joyce, of Michigan, Toni Davis and her husband, Roger, of Maryland, Trudy Dursa and her husband, Regis, of Uniontown, Pa., and Samuel Brendel Hunt and his wife, Patti, of Uniontown, Pa.; and many beloved nieces and nephews. “Birdie” will be dearly missed by her loving pet, “Quinta”.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday April 5, until 9:15 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, with the Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service will be conducted in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
