Uniontown
Shots fired City police said they were dispatched to Pershing Court at 8:09 a.m. Saturday for a report of shots fired. Michael Sutton of Uniontown told police he was inside 19 Pershing Court watching television when he heard a gunshot and looked out the window.
Sutton told police a yellow, extended-cab truck with tinted windows was parked outside the unit, and he said a white man was pointing a handgun out the passenger side window at a black man who appeared to be running away.
According to police, Sutton said there was another gunshot and that the black man bent over as if he had been shot. Sutton told police the black man then continued to run and that the white man in the truck backed up, “burning tires,” and struck Sutton’s vehicle before fleeing on Route 40.
Sutton said the black man who may have been shot was wearing dark pants and a black, puffy coat with brown fur around the hood, according to police.
Police said officers were unable to locate a victim and were on the lookout for the truck, noting that the vehicle should have minor damage to the front driver’s side. Police said Sutton’s vehicle was damaged and that there were tire tracks on the ground.
The incident is under investigation.
