Edward A. King Sr., age 78, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly Saturday, April 1, 2006, at his home. He was born July 23, 1927, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Harvey C. King and Margaret Doyle King.

Ed was a Protestant by faith, a veteran who served in the United States Navy and retired from the now former R. Bruce Fike Dairy in Uniontown, Pa.

He lived for his loving wife, children, but most of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ed had a passion for golf and when he couldn’t play he was watching it on TV. His favorite place to play was Myrtle Beach with his family.

He loved debating politics.

He was predeceased by his parents, his stepmother, Laura King, and two brothers, Harvey C. King Jr. and Gerald “Hoot” King.

Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Geraldine D. Gribble King; his children: Cathy King Bryner and her husband, Mark A. Bryner, Edward A. King Jr. and his wife, Debra Ann, and Mary Louise King Over and her husband, James Over, all of Uniontown, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Carly Miller Bolish and her husband Keith, Ryann Over, Mark Bryner, Nathan King, Cory Over, Molly King, Haley King, Taylor Bryner and Christian Bryner; two great-grandchildren: McKena Bolish and Mason Bolish; three sisters: Nancy D’Auria and her husband, Vincent, of Uniontown, Pa., Marion L. Oppermann of Wilmington, Delaware, and Jane Garrow and her husband, Fred, of Palmyra, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Susie King; and one brother, Larry King and his wife, Terry King, of Uniontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Private Services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2006.
