Storm causes few problems
A blast of wicked spring weather slammed the region Monday afternoon, as a brief but heavy thunderstorm downed trees and struck at least one home by lightning. Trees were reported down in Nicholson Township and branches down on several other roads across the district and in German township a home on Theodore Drive was struck by lightning, knocking out electrical service to the residence, according to Fayette County 911.
The National Weather Service was predicting windy and rainy conditions throughout Monday night, eventually mixing with sleet and snow into this morning.
Temperatures are expected to reach the middle-40s today.
