William Gresh
William Gresh, age 92, of Highland, California, died April 5, 2006, following a lengthy illness. He was born March 14, 1914, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Basil Gresh and Mary Busovny Gresh.
Mr. Gresh was a graduate of Brownsville High School, Brownsville, Pa.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquid Fuels Tax as a Fuel Tax Auditor.
He moved to and resided in California since 1965. He retired as a millwright from Kaiser Steel in California.
He was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Fontana, California.
On November 13, 1937, he married Barbara Koki Gresh. She died March 6, 1996.
Deceased, in addition to his wife, are his parents, a brother, George Gresh, and a sister, Anna Mackinac. Also deceased are two sisters, Mary and Helen, who died in infancy.
Surviving are a son, William J. Gresh of Highland, California; two brothers: John Gresh of Brownsville, Pa., and Peter Gresh of Waterford, Michigan; three sisters: Margaret Smith of Lakeland, Florida, Mary Juras of Gainesville, Florida, and Lillian Deleruyelle of Lake Wales, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank Street, at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, Pa., where prayers will be said Wednesday, April 12, at 9:15 a.m.
Divine Liturgy follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, with the Rev. Father Jerome T. Botsko as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Nicholas Cemetery, Brownsville, Pa.
Parastas Service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m.
