1 min read

SALTLICK TWP. – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has determined an elderly township woman found early Sunday in her home died of natural causes. Ola Katherine Nichelson, 65, of 605 Clinton Road was found lying on a heater in her home, but an autopsy performed by Cyril H. Wecht Pathology Associates in Pittsburgh indicates her death was not tied to the fall.

A spokeswoman for Fayette County Coroner Dr. Phillip E. Reilly said Monday that it has been determined Nichelson collapsed onto the heating unit after her death.

The Fayette County coroner has not received toxicology test results.

According to Fayette 911, Saltlick Township Volunteer Fire Department, Mutual Aid Ambulance, state police and the coroner’s office were called to the home at 12:22 a.m. Sunday.

No information was available from state police.
