Betty Jean Mitchell Upole Rosner
Betty Jean Mitchell Upole Rosner, 78 years, of Smithfield, Pa., died Thursday, April 13, 2006, and went to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. She was born December 3, 1927, in Royal, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of William Arthur Mitchell and Mattie B. Grimm Mitchell.
Betty was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Uniontown and currently was attending the Smithfield United Methodist Church.
She was well known for her love and skill of ironing.
Her parents, her husband, Frank L. Rosner, her son, Thomas Mitchell Upole, and four brothers, Earl, Bernard, Hopwood and Herb Leighty, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her loving five children: James Upole and his wife Margaret, Newport News, Virginia, the Rev. Ronald Rosner and his wife Linda, Uniontown, Pa., Leslie Swartz and her husband Daniel “Danny”, York, Pa., Joyce Hall and her husband Jim, Adah, Pa., and Ruth Ann Swift and her husband Robert “Bob”, Smithfield, Pa.; five grandchildren: Beth, Leanne, Justin, Dale Wayne and Kristy; seven great grandchildren: Taylor, Ian, Violet, Colby, Nathaniel, Noah and Tessa; one sister, Evelyn Buffington of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Monday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 18, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Rosner, her son, officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
