Dorothy Jean (Martin) Crossland of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Good Friday, April 14, 2006. She was born October 23, 1926, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of William P. and Mary (Zorko) (Samko) Martin.

She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family and beloved husband, Harold O’Neal Crossland, whom she married on his birthday 60 years ago.

In addition to her husband, Harold, she is survived by four children: Harold O. “Butch” Crossland Jr. and his fianc?e, Erica, Shelly L. Crossland and Mrs. Vicki D. Galluzzo and her husband, Guy, all of Uniontown, Pa., and Mrs. Pamela S. Rafferty and her husband, Ed, of McMurray, Pa.; five grandchildren: Mia Lopez and her husband, Kirk, of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, Mrs. Jennifer Snyder and her husband, Mark, of Dunbar, Pa., Mrs. Buffy Anderson and her husband, Scott, Guy Aaron Galluzzo and Brianna C. Rafferty; seven great-grandchildren: Amanda Snyder, Mark Snyder Jr., Ashley Lopez, Danielle Lopez, Garrett Lopez, Madison Anderson and Scotty Anderson; one brother, Henry “Pete” Martin of Grafton, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Martin of Avon, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Richard Owen Crossland of Hopwood, Pa., and Dorothy Martin of Smithfield, Pa. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and these sisters and brothers: Patricia Johnson, Ruth Saylor, Marie Duna, Jon Samko, Thomas “Sonny” Samko, James M. Samko, Johnny Samko, Margaret Andria, and an infant brother Billy.

She was a member of the United Christian Temple Church in Uniontown.

She often opened her home to the homeless, fed the widowed and supported many orphans and impoverished children.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 19, until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with the Rev. Galen Winebrenner, her Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
