John V. Jasien
John V. Jasien, age 90, of Edenborn, Pa., and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, in King’s Personal Care Home, Uniontown, Pa. He was born on December 24, 1915, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the son of Vitalis Jasien and Marya (Chesslo) Jasien.
John was a member of Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Footedale, Pa., and the American Legion Post in Carmichaels, Pa.
During World War II he proudly served his country in the United States Army, Military Police.
He worked in Cleveland, Ohio, for 30 years as a steel fabricator and layout man.
His parents, wife, Helen (Block) Jasein, sisters, Lena Lecea, Connie Yackmack, Helen Yurczak, and a brother, Frank Jasien, preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Mary Jasien of Uniontown, Pa.; two brothers-in-law: Stanley Block and wife, Leona, of Crucible, Pa., and Frank Yurczak of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Jasien of Ohio; 11 nieces and nephews; 26 great nieces and great nephews; 27 great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and 4 great-great-great nieces and great-great-great nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today (Easter Sunday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, April 17, until 9:15 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Footedale, Pa., with the Rev. Father James A. Popochock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Thomas Cemetery, Footedale, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by the George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be conducted in the funeral home today at 2:30 p.m.
