Thomas J. Hoak
Thomas J. Hoak, age 81, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on July 24, 1924, to Frank Hoak and Ethel Conaway Hoak Works Sutton.
“Tom” was Protestant by faith, a veteran of World War II and retired from the Uniontown School District.
He liked to fish and bowl.
“Tom” was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Frank Hoak Jr., Charles Works and William Works, one sister, Kay Hoak Chuna, and his stepmother, Virginia Hoak Lininger.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Kelley Hoak; two children: son, Timothy J. Hoak and his wife, Donna, of McKees Rocks, Pa., and daughter, Janet Hoak and her friend, John, of Uniontown, Pa.; four grandchildren: Jason Hoak, Timothy Hoak Jr., Todd Hoak and Sarah Hoak Raymond and her husband, Pat; two great-grandsons: Jonathan and Noah; one brother, Bernard Works and his wife, Ruth, of Hopwood, Pa.; four sisters: Carol Hoak Popson and her husband, Steve, of Uniontown, Pa., Shirley Potter of Ravenna, Ohio, Connie Works O’Brien and her husband, Charles, of Hopwood, Pa., and Linda Works Brown and her husband, Bill, of Collier, Uniontown, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Charles O’Brien Jr., his nephew, officiating.
Interment will follow in White Rock Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
