David “Pap” William Wallace
David “Pap” William Wallace, age 80, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in Layfayette Manor, Uniontown, Pa. He was born in Ohiopyle, Pa., on March 6, 1926, the son of Arthur Wallace and Daisy Shipley Wallace.
He was a member of the West Leisenring Volunteer Fire Department, Western PA Firemen’s Association. He was also a former fire chief at West Leisenring Volunteer Fire Department and was awarded “Fireman of the Year” at the Western PA Firemen’s Association.
He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Lavina R. Wallace in 2002, a daughter, Shelia Gales in 1993, two brothers, John and Robert Wallace and a sister, Margaret Howell.
He is survived by five daughters: Lois Conn of Connellsville, Pa., D’Rae Gales of West Leisenring, Pa., Marlene Oberly of West Leisenring, Pa., Lynn Whipkey and her husband Albert of Lemont Furnace, Pa. and Patty Arzbacher of Connellsville, Pa.; four grandchildren: Kim McCoy, Keith Oberly, Stephen Oberly Jr., Jessica Whipkey and Kenneth Whipkey; four great-grandchildren: Brandi Strrosnider, Christy Oberly, Stephen Oberly III and Madison Oberly; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, April 20, from 9 to 10 a.m. the hour of service with the Rev. Bryan Kelley officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
