Guy Clegg Sr.
Guy Clegg, Sr., age 85, of Blosser Hill, Lake Lynn, Pa., died Monday, April 17, 2006, in the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born on November 12, 1920, at Winstead, Pa., the son of Robert Casper Clegg and Susan Winn Clegg.
A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Guy was a faithful member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Lake Lynn, where he served as Elder.
He worked in several area mines, and retired from Duquesne Light Warwick Mine as a section foreman.
In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and making homemade maple syrup.
He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Ethel Lewis Clegg on Sept. 25, 1999, a son, Guy Clegg, Jr., brothers, Walter, James, and Robert Clegg, and sisters Margaret Sines and Kay DeMaski.
He is survived by his son, Keith Clegg, and his wife Penny, of Point Marion, a daughter-in-law, Susan Clegg of Masontown, Pa.; four grandchildren and their spouses: Denean and Mike Burroughs, Stacy and David Fowler, Dana and Marcus DiNunno, and Keith Clegg, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Juliana and Dawson Fowler; four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; a brother Dorsey Clegg and his wife Katie of Smithfield; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Fannie Watt of Hopwood, Pa., Emma and Charles Frazee of Lake Lynn, and Martha and Richard Karpal of Lakeland, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, today from 7 to 9 p.m., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday in the Oak Grove Church of Christ from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., the hour of service, with his minister, Brian Young officiating.
Interment follows in Springhill Union Cemetery, Lake Lynn, with Military Rites accorded at the graveside by the Veterans of Foreign War Post 747 and the American Legion, Post 499, both of Point Marion.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to daughter-in-law Sue Clegg, and the staff and management of Point Manor Personal Care Home for all their loving care of Guy.
