Irene G. Conroy
Irene G. Conroy, age 78, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Monday, April 17, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. She was born on August 2, 1927, the daughter of John Galica and Bertha (Bonick) Galica of Filbert, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Walter G. Mavracic in 1962 and her second husband, James E. Conroy in 1991, and her brothers, John, Stanley, and Thomas Galica.
Irene was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church and Saint Joseph Confraternity of Christian Mothers for over 50 years.
She was a graduate of Redstone High School Class of 1945 and she looked forward to attending her class reunions.
Left to cherish her memory are six children: Walter G. Mavracic, Jr. and wife Patti of Cudjoe Key, Florida, Cheryl A. Galderisi and husband Frank of Uniontown, Pa., Marilynn Senky and husband Joseph of Uniontown, Pa., Jamie Fetsko and husband Gary of Pittsburgh, Pa., Janine Giuffrida and husband Tom of Indiana State, and Janelle Conroy of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brothers and sisters: Helen Holloman, Frances Duda, and Joseph Galica; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A DIGNITY MEMORIAL PROVIDER, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, April 21, until 9 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev Father Alexander L. Pleban as Celebrant.
The Saint Joseph’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary on Thursday at 3:15 p.m. followed by the Parish family vigil by the Ministry of Consolation at 3:30 p.m.
