Police seek teens in Dairy Queen robbery
State police are searching for three teens suspected of robbing the Connellsville Street Dairy Queen in North Union Township at gunpoint late Tuesday. And, according to investigating officer Trooper Tim Knapp, Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis has issued a warrant for one of the suspects, a 17-year-old Uniontown teen.
Knapp said the boy is wanted on charges of four counts of felony robbery, three counts of theft, three counts of criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, theft and recklessly endangering another person after he and two other teens held four employees at the restaurant at gunpoint.
According to police, the three teens entered the restaurant at 8:40 p.m. with hoods and bandanas covering their faces.
Two of the teens are white and one is black, police said.
Police said one of the white men had a sawed-off shotgun and the black man, who was described as short and wearing all dark clothing, had a long-barreled revolver.
The suspects asked employees where the safe was and then herded all four employees into a closet at the rear of the restaurant, police said.
The suspects stole $459 in cash, a digital camera owned by one of the victims and a cellular phone owned by another victim before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.
Uniontown police provided backup at the scene and scoured city streets for the suspects following the holdup.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call Knapp at the state police barracks at 724-439-7111.
