Frank “Bootsie” Kilo
Frank “Bootsie” Kilo, age 87, of McClellandtown, Pa., died on Thursday, April 20, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born on April 9, 1919, in Shamrock, Fayette County, Pa., the son of Joseph Kilo and Anna (Bordash) Kilo.
Frank proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army, First Division.
A retiree of Dilworth Mine, he was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and also the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 and the Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 both in Masontown, Pa.
Frank was a wonderful father and grandfather and was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
His parents, beloved wife, Alberta Kilo, brothers, John, Joseph and Steve, and sisters, Elizabeth and Mary, preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons: James Kilo of McClellandtown, Pa., and Rodger Kilo and his wife, Johnella, of Orlando, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Orpha “Sue” Harker of Moundsville, West Virginia; a granddaughter, Heather Kilo of McClellandtown, Pa.; two great-grandchildren: Michael Neighbors and Hannah Neighbors both of McClellandtown, Pa.; and four step-grandchildren: Willard Cottrell of Moundsville, West Virginia, Allen Cottrell and Mary Cottrell both of Smithfield, Pa., and Walter Sapp of Wickhaven, Pa.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today (Monday, April 24, 2006) until 1 p.m., the hour of the Service with Pastor Gary McFadden officiating.
Interment will follow in Masontown Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584.
Visitation was also held Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
