Harold A. Robinson

Harold A. Robinson, age 93, of Sleepy Hollow Road, Smithfield, Pa., died Friday, April 21, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born January 29, 1913, in Smithfield, Pa., the son of James H. Robinson and Florence Glover Robinson.

Harold was a lifetime member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, choir member and belonged to the Men’s Bible Class.

A member of the Fayette County Fiddler’s Association, Harold was an avid musician and violin player and built and designed violins.

He also was a member of the York Run Grange, served as Councilman for the Smithfield Borough and loved to hunt and fish.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Beryle E. Robinson, the mother of his children, a daughter, Cinda Sue Robinson Grimes, one granddaughter, Marti Robinson Jones, two sisters, Rosalee Leech and Naomi Kidwell, and one brother, Curtis Robinson.

Surviving are four children: Robert J. Robinson and his wife, Janet, of Smithfield, Pa., Carol Lee Morgan and her husband, Robert, of Kiawah Island, South Carolina, Diana Jean Hines and her husband, Earl, of Smithfield, Pa., and Harold A. Robinson Jr. and his wife, Goldie, of Uniontown, Pa.; 13 grandchildren: Melodie, Robert Jr., Benjamin, Scott, Leslie, Heidi, Derrick, Dean, Dayna, Danielle, Bill, Holly and Chris; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Madelyn “Tootie” Morgan of Smithfield, Pa.; and three brothers: William C. Robinson, James H. Robinson and his wife, Sara Jane, and Jack L. Robinson and his wife, Janet, all of Smithfield, Pa. Also surviving are his second wife, Kathleen Dreshman Robinson; stepchildren: Vicki Miltenberger and her husband, Robert, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two step-grandchildren: Marnee Miltenberger and Bart Miltenberger; and two step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today (Tuesday, April 25) until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Jay P. Hurley officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 30 Church Street, Smithfield, PA 15478 or to the New Geneva Baptist Church, New Geneva, PA 15467.

Visitation was also held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
