James A. “Reuben” Mikita, age 75, of Brownsville, Pa., died Sunday, April 23, 2006. He was born on February 13, 1931, in Braznell, Pa., the Son of John Mikita Sr. and Juliana Krackovic Mikita.

“Reuben” was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He served on the Board of Directors of the Laborers International Union Local 286.

“Reuben” was a member of the American Legion Post 295, Brownsville, Pa., and the Brownsville Sportsmen’s Club.

He was predeceased by his Wife, Vivian Federer Mikita, Son, Kevin, Brothers, John Jr., Michael, Frank and Andrew Mikita, and Sisters, Irene and Margaret.

He is survived by two Children: Gary Mikita and his wife Barbara, Uniontown, Pa., and Joi-Lynne and William Spalla, Clarksburg, Pa.; five Grandchildren: Janice Harmon and her husband Scott, Melissa Mikita, Brandon Reinard, Shanna-Lynne Reinard and Tyler Reinard; Brothers: George Mikita, Braznell, Pa., and Steven Mikita, Brownsville, Pa.; numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 27, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Jerome Botsko officiating.

Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Full Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion posts 275, 295, 838 and 940.
