Center plans charity auction
SALTLICK TWP. – The Christian Family and Children’s Center is hosting its annual charity auction on Thursday at the Donegal Community Center. According to organizers, a buffet dinner and preview of the new and slightly used items starts at 4:30 p.m., with bidding beginning at 6 p.m. Mark Dixson III is the auctioneer for the evening.
According to organizers, there are more than 100 items of interest, including an autographed Arnold Palmer flag and book; autographed Hines Ward picture; autographed Lance Armstrong magazine cover; golf passes from Nemacolin, Seven Springs and other local courses; a spa package at Nemacolin; a hand carved bird; a chain saw-carved eagle; theme gift baskets; a handmade quilt; tools; furniture; flowers; crafts; and much more.
The proceeds from this event will benefit the facility, said organizers.
According to D. Merle Skinner, executive director, the Christian Family and Children’s Center is an interdenominational ministry providing Christian programs for the family in the tri-county area. Skinner said the programs offered include Champion Christian School, for preschool through 12th grade; New Horizons Pregnancy Resource Center; and Christian counseling services.
The cost of the tickets is $6 each and may be purchased in advanced by calling 724-455-2122 or at the door.
