Fire companies, personnel have drill at resort

By The 1 min read

FARMINGTON- Several area fire departments and Fayette County emergency personnel conducted an extensive mock explosion and rescue at Nemacolin Woodland Resort & Spa in Farmington Thursday morning. Volunteer firefighters from several stations, including Farmington and Ohiopyle, joined forces with the Uniontown Fire Department in the drill that incorporated live patients with makeup to simulate injuries.

Fayette EMS and Uniontown Fireman’s Ambulance transported several “patients” to Uniontown Hospital, where officials also conducted a mock triage and patient decontamination.

According to Janice Curry, Uniontown Hospital police chief, emergency crews participating in the drill actually transported a real patient to the hospital after she received a large splinter in while participating in the mock activities.

The drill was organized by Nemacolin security chief Joe Brown.
