Marjorie L. Smith Whetzel, age 89, a lifelong resident of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lewis Raymond Whetzel; son, Ronald Whetzel and his wife, Margaret, of Grindstone, Pa.; daughter, Susan Whetzel Franks and her husband, Harold Franks, of Connellsville, Pa.; son, Thomas Whetzel of Brownsville, Pa.; sister, Elizabeth Smith Waterhouse of Michigan; grandchildren: Scott Franks of Connellsville, Pa., and Amy Franks of Connellsville, Pa.; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Novak Funeral Home, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Monday, May 1, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 2, until 11 a.m.
