Leona Louise Misinay Bartos
Leona Louise Misinay Bartos, 88, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Wednesday morning, August 2, 2006, in the Select Specialty Hospital, Greensburg, Pa. She was born January 6, 1918, in Uniontown, the daughter of the late Stephen Misinay and Ann Kruper Misinay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Justine Sikora and Margaret Moroffko, brothers: Martin, Samuel and Anthony.
Leona was a member of Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church, the Saint Therese Altar Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Catholic War Veterans. She was a graduate of the Uniontown Area Senior High School.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Rudolph J. Bartos; her loving daughters: Bonnie Waybright and husband, Dr. Edward Waybright of New Gloucester, Maine, Stephanie Graves and her husband, George of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.; her three granddaughters whom she loved and adored: Sarah Waybright, Amanda Graves and Alexandra Graves; special nephew, Edward Misinay and other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with her three granddaughters and her great nieces and great nephews. She loved going for long drives with her husband, Rudy in the mountains near Uniontown to spot deer and other wild life and to end the ride with an ice cream cone.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., on Friday, August 4, 2006 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday morning, August 5, 2006 until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F. officiating.
Interment follows in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, pa.
The Saint Therese Altar Society will recite the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
Donations may be made to the Uniontown Public Library in Leona’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Hillside Manor in Uniontown where Leona was a resident for the past two years for their care of Leona and support of Rudy.
