Church scholarships awarded
St. George Maronite Church recently awarded scholarships to three local students who attend the church. Recipients of the St. George Education Scholarship Fund and the James Gabriel Memorial Scholarship were Courtney Sanner (left), a Uniontown Area High School graduate; David Macar (left center), a Laurel Highlands High School graduate; and Sandy Jo Risha (right), a Uniontown Area High School graduate. Each student has received various other scholarships through schools and other sources, including the National Apostolate of Maronites Scholarship, which was awarded to Sanner. She was one of two recipients nationwide. The Rev. Joseph R. David (right center) is pastor of the church.
