William H. Franchek
William H. “Bill the Barber” Franchek, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Thursday, August 3, 2006, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born April 5, 1921, in Imperial, Pa., the son of the late Steve and Anna Fronchock Franchek.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Betty Moore Franchek and brothers and sisters, Amil, Joseph, Frank, Steve, Helen and Mary, preceded him in death.
“Bill” was a barber who cut hair in New Salem for many years and semi-retired cutting hair in his home on Coolspring Street in Uniontown and a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army.
He is survived by his son, William E. Franchek and his wife, Joella of Uniontown; three grandchildren: Richard Franchek and his wife, Tracy of Masontown, Pa., Paula Slagle and her husband, Scott of Uniontown and Betty Franchek of Ogden, Utah; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Henry Franchek and his wife, Dee De, Wilbert Franchek, Ann Oravets and Angeline Kukulinski all of Imperial; and a sister-in-law, Mary Moore of Uniontown.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., today, August 5, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, August 7, 2006, until 11 a.m. the hour of Service with Rufus Peer, Pastor officiating.
Interment will follow in McClellandtown Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Church Hill.
