Carmichaels Bank names new directors

CB Financial Services Inc. has appointed John H. Baily and David F. Pollock as directors. The incumbent board of directors unanimously nominated both men.

CB Financial Services Inc. is the holding company of Community Bank, headquartered in Carmichaels.

Baily is a lifelong resident of Carmichaels and a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. He is a Vietnam combat veteran, having served as a naval aviator while a captain in the Marine Corps. Baily spent 26 years as a commercial pilot for area corporations. He resides in Carmichaels and is engaged to Laura Walters, a teacher at West Greene School District.

Pollock is a senior partner in the Waynesburg law firm of Pollock, Thomas, Morris and McCall P.C., where he has practiced law for the last 26 years. Pollock is a graduate of Lafayette College and New York School of Law. He is the past president of the Greene County Bar Association and served for many years as District Attorney for Greene County. Pollock serves on numerous board and service organizations, including the Humane Society and the Greene County Planning Commission. He and his wife Linda are actively involved in youth activities with their children.

Bailey and Pollock both represent families with long associations with Community Bank. Each new director’s father previously served as a director of Community Bank. H. Allan (“Bud”) Baily owned a Dodge dealership in Greene County and was a director of Community Bank for more than 30 years, retiring in 1995. Ewing Pollock is an attorney in Waynesburg and was a director of Community Bank for 20 years. Both new directors (as well as director Karl Baily) are great grandsons of J. Ewing Baily, one of the founders of Community Bank.

Business donates to charity

Rowan’s Computers USA in Connellsville will donate $50 to a non-profit organization for each new computer sold through August. Jeff Rowan, owner, said he is being helped by the Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce and the Fayette Chamber of Commerce to compile a list of non-profit groups from which to choose to benefit from the program. Bank announces earnings

FedFirst Financial Corp., the parent company of First Federal Savings Bank, has announced net income of $150,000 for the quarter ending June 30, compared to net income of $293,000 for the quarter that ended June 30, 2005. Net income for the six months ending June 30 was $388,000 compared to net income of $519,000 for the six months that ended on June 30, 2005. Basic and diluted earnings per share were 2 cents and 5 cents for the quarters ending June 30 and June 30, 2005, respectively. Basic and diluted earnings per share for the six months ending June 30 was 6 cents. Earnings per share data for the six months ended June 30, 2005, was not presented, the company said, since the bank was wholly owned by FedFirst Financial MHC prior to the completion of the initial public offering on April 6, 2005.
