Rose Nestor
Rose Nestor, age 79, a lifelong resident of Smithfield, Pa., passed away on Friday, August 4, 2006, in the Hillside Manor Personal Care Home, Uniontown, Pa. She was born on October 31, 1926, in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of Andrew and Anna (Gmitter) Nestor, who preceded her in death.
Rose was a graduate of Georges Township High School and a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, Pa., The Rosary Society, Golden Agers of Smithfield, Senior Citizens Club, Smithfield Colonials, Friendship Hill Association and the Old Time Fiddler Association.
She retired from the United States Postal Service where she had been employed for 27 years as a clerk and later Postmaster.
She had also been employed with Armour and Company for 17 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers: Michael Nestor and his wife, Roberta, and Stephen Nestor and his wife, Rose Marie; nephews and nieces: Michael Nestor and his wife, Jayne, Gary Nestor, Randall Nestor and his wife, Denise, Melanie Carver and her husband, Richard, Cynthia Francart and her husband, William, Stephen Nestor and his wife, Lori, and Lisa Robinson and her husband, David; many great-nieces and great-nephews: Nicole, Randy II, Christopher, Kathleen, Kody, Christopher, Douglas, Ryan, Kayla Marie, Mitchell, Zachary, Andrew and Wade; and also her best friend since childhood, Mary Brayadrobny.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, August 7) until 9:15 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, Pa., with the Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Parish Wake Service was held in the Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 8:45 p.m.
