A. J. Martin
A. J. Martin, 87, of Markleysburg, Pa., passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006, in Kamp’s Personal Care Home. He was born January 11, 1919, in Henry Clay Township the son of Fred D. and Della Mae (Fike) Martin.
He was a member of the Union Chapel Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Eldora Couch, Marabelle Glisan, and Marie Martin, two brothers, Fred (Bud) Martin and Kenneth Martin.
A. J. was a World War II veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 47 in Uniontown, Pa.
He is survived by these children Pattie Baker and husband Elmer, Andrew J. (Sonny) Martin and wife Linda, all of Markleysburg, Pa., Stanley Martin and wife Darlene of Addison, Pa. and Fred Martin and wife Lisa of Markleysburg, Pa.; a sister, Beverly Murphy of Morgantown, West Virginia; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the RODNEY S. TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 254 Main Street, Markleysburg, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, August 10, until 11 a.m. the hour of service.
