Republic No injuries in fire

An evening fire kept firefighters from five stations busy Wednesday as flames ripped through a building on Main Street in Republic at 6:53 p.m.

Volunteer firefighters from Republic, South Brownsville, New Salem, Tower Hill 2 and Allison 2 responded to the blaze in the structure located across from the Holy Rosary Church in Republic.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The flames were knocked down by 8 p.m., according to officials.

In addition to volunteer fire companies, the Redstone Township police department, Fayette EMS and the state police fire marshal were called to the scene, according to Fayette County 911.

No further information was available as of press time.

Woman charged

Uniontown police said Terri Frezzell, 38, no address given, was charged with defiant trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident in Uniontown at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday.

David Francis Keffer, 43, of Uniontown was charged with simple assault and harassment after an altercation in the city at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday, Uniontown police said.

Doors damaged

Amanda Meigs of Star Junction told state police that vandals damaged two doors at her home on Tony Row Road between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Charges pending

State police said charges are pending against a teenager who shot two other teens with an air pistol at a West Second Street residence in Grindstone at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Ramps stolen

State police said two loading ramps owned by Thomas Rogers of Republic were stolen from his home on DeGregory Circle between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.

Window broken

Jeffrey Ritenour of Melcroft told state police that a window on his vehicle was broken while it was parked on Indian Valley Creek Road at 2 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Men cited

John Campbell and Leonard McFadden, both of New Salem, were cited for disorderly conduct after an altercation at a home at 120 Mary St. at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, state police said.

McFadden was cited just 10 minutes prior to the incident for harassment after an argument with a juvenile at the same location, police said.

Man cited

State police reported that Rodney Ervin Durbin, 37, of Waynesburg was cited for harassment after an altercation with Denise Durbin, 33, also of Waynesburg, at a residence on Route 21 at 12:50 p.m. Monday.

Luzerne Twp.

Report given

The Luzerne Township police patrolled more than 1,100 miles in July and made three arrests, including one involving criminal mischief and one involving a domestic dispute, police said.

Township police said 16 citations for code violations were issued and two traffic accidents were investigated.

Masontown police said Theo Johnson and Ronald Washington, both of Masontown, were both cited for disorderly conduct after an incident in Fort Mason Village at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 3.

Masontown police said suspected cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana were discovered under hedges on Eddington Lane at 10 p.m. Aug. 3.

Jerry Dodd of Masontown told Masontown police that his compact disc player and 60 CDs were stolen from his vehicle while the vehicle was parked on South Main Street on Aug. 1, according to police reports.

Masontown police reported that Alicia Moore, 30, of Waynesburg was arrested on an outstanding warrant after she was discovered on North Main Street at 5:31 p.m. Aug. 3.
