Donegal Twp. Fatal crash reported
State police said Christopher D. Ruggieri, 23, of Stahlstown was killed Wednesday evening when the vehicle he was riding in struck a fence post and several trees on Route 381 at 6:58 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, Donald Fulton Jr., 38, of White suffered moderate injuries in the crash, police said. Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner John Ackerman pronounced Ruggieri dead at the scene, police said.

Charges filed
Police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents:n Sherry J. Hone, 46, of Connellsville with harassment after she allegedly made racial slurs to an unidentified woman during an Aug. 5 incident in the 100 block of Pulaski Street.
– Robert Nicklow, 23, of Littlestown for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after he was allegedly found to be intoxicated and screamed profanities during an Aug. 6 incident in the 1000 block of West Crawford Avenue.
– Jason Meade, 28, of South Connellsville with criminal mischief after he allegedly broke the window of a Gibson Terrace apartment during an Aug. 6 incident.
– David R. Lancaster, 31, of Mount Pleasant, with public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated in the 200 block of North 6th Street.

Tavern burglarized
Police are investigating the Aug. 7 burglary of the Bigg Sixx Tavern when someone forced their way into the West Crawford Avenue business and stole an unspecified amount of cash.

Bank card arrest made
Brownsville police Tuesday arrested Linda Patrick, 28, of Cardale on multiple charges of access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Patrick allegedly used a National City Bank card owned by Lorraine Shaver of Brownsville for several transactions July 29 at the A-Plus mini mart on High Street.
Patrick was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino and jailed in lieu of $1,000 bond, 10 percent acceptable, on each of two cases. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 24.

Cash stolen
State police said charges were filed against an unidentified Hopwood teen who stole $5 from a 9-year-old boy outside a business on Route 119 in Dunbar Township at 2:06 p.m. Wednesday.

Shoplifting reported
Brownsville police charged Karen Prichard, 40, of 321 Cadwallader St., Brownsville, with retail theft. The charges filed Aug. 2 stem from an incident July 10 in which Pritchard allegedly took a 69-cent can opener from the A-Plus mini mart on High Street without paying for it. She was also served with three traffic warrants.
Prichard was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino and jailed in lieu of $1,500 percentage bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 17.

Drugs found
Brownsville police arrested Patricia Smith, 55, of Brownsville, on charges of manufacturing/delivery of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug and harassment following an incident Aug. 4 at 5:43 p.m. at 100 High St. According to police, Smith was in possession of two pieces of suspected crack cocaine. Smith was arraigned and placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bond.

Curfew violated
Brownsville police cited eight juveniles for violating the 10:30 p.m. curfew after receiving a complaint about a group of girls fighting on Fifth Avenue Aug. 5 at 3:29 a.m. Police said there was no fight.

Destiny Staples of 418 Fifth Ave. told Brownsville police that a road crew working above her house hit her brick wall, causing damage. The incident was reported Aug. 7 at 3:43 p.m.

Juveniles charged
Brownsville police said charges are pending against a group of juveniles for allegedly harassing Dorothy Carr of 1230 Second St. on Aug. 7 at 6:47 p.m. Carr said the juveniles called her names and shouted obscenities at her for no reason.

Window broken
Donald Bailey told Brownsville police that someone threw a brick through a window in the back door of 4 Steele St. The incident was reported at 7:48 a.m. Aug. 7. Bailey told police the incident occurred sometime overnight.

Tire slashed
Carla Michaux of 87 South Hills Terrace told Brownsville police that someone slashed the driver’s side rear tire on her father’s car, which she had parked downtown near the Flatiron Building. The incident was reported July 29 at 12:30 a.m.

Fence hit
Paula Brown reported to Brownsville police that a small black car struck the fence around her property, causing an estimated $400 damage.
The incident occurred on July 31, according to police. It was reported to police Monday at 7:17 a.m.
Several people said that they saw the incident and recognized the driver of the vehicle.
The suspected driver reported to police that he struck the curb, not the fence.

Diane Sheridan of 440 Green St. told Brownville police that someone took a change purse containing about $300, credit cards, her bank card and her driver’s license from her vehicle.
The incident was reported Aug. 1 at 4:20 p.m. The incident is under investigation.

A refrigerator owned by Zach Hixon of Uniontown was removed from rental property at 516 Front St., Brownsville. The incident was reported Aug. 2.
The refrigerator was on loan to Hixon’s father, David Hixon, also of Uniontown. The refrigerator is valued at $474.88.
