Rosella M. McCracken, 76, of Masontown, Pa., died on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on November 5, 1929, in Masontown, Pa., daughter of Walter A. and Nellie (Jenkins) McCann, who preceded her in death.

Rosella was a member of the Masontown Brethren Church, and retired as a business manager for Bortz Corporation, where she was employed for 43 years. She was a graduate of Masontown High School class of 1947, a graduate of the office training school of Uniontown, and continued her education at the Waynesburg Center.

An active member of the Masontown Business and Professional Women’s Club, she served as the Masontown B.P.W. president, district 12 director, and as corresponding secretary for the State B.P.W. organization.

In 1996 she was named the “Most Outstanding Secretary of the Year” an award sponsored by the Central Fayette Chamber of Business and Industry.

She was an avid card player, and enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan M. McCracken, at home; sister, Garnet M. Despot and husband, Steve of Low Hill, Pa.; brother, Russell L. McCann and wife, Fran of Malakoff, Texas; four nieces and nephews: William Despot and wife, Susan, and James Despot, all of Low Hill, Pa., Melanie Booth and husband, Paul of Lancaster, Texas, and Dr. Stefanie Moore, M.D. and husband, Sean of Dallas, Texas; and dear friend and companion Joanie Farrier of Masontown, Pa.

Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2006, at the Masontown Brethren Church, 110 West Church Street, Masontown, Pa., at 10 a.m., with Rev. Stephen S. Cole officiating.

Interment will follow at Church Hill, Cemetery, McClellandtown, Pa.
