Robert E. ‘Bob’ Cordwell
Robert E. “Bob” Cordwell, 72, of Point Marion, Pa., died Friday, August 11, 2006, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. Born March 14, 1934, in Johnstown, Pa., he was a son of the late William and Ellen Shaw Cordwell.
A United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, “Bob” retired as a Section Boss from Consol after over 35 years in the mines. He had previously been employed by Lake Lynn Fuels and was currently a member of the F.O.E. 1932 in Point Marion. Recently he had been baptized into the faith of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Stanley R. (Darlene) Wolfe, Jr. of Point Marion and Mrs. Thomas S. (Diana) Stofcheck of Carmichaels, Pa.; four grandchildren: Chad, Tiffany and Bethany Wolfe and Courtney Stofcheck; two great-grandchildren: Dustin R. and Seth P. Wolfe; a brother, William T. Cordwell of Shamokin, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews, including James Wise who was raised in the Cordwell home.
He was predeceased by two brothers, James L. Cordwell in 2004 and Jack in infancy and two sisters, Velma “Red” Hammack in 2006 and Laura in childhood.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until 1 p.m., the hour of Service with Minister Brian Young officiating.
Private interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
