Russell H. “Peaszie” McFadden

Russell H. “Peaszie” McFadden, 60, of Gans, Pa., died Sunday, August 13, 2006, at his home with his loving family at his side. Born December 13, 1945, in Fairchance, Pa., he was a son of the late William and Pearl Brangard McFadden, Sr.

A graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, he attended Gans United Methodist Church, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 747 in Point Marion.

He had formerly worked in the Nemacolin Mine, and, for the past 18 years, was employed as a security guard at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He is survived by his wife, Linda McCartney McFadden, three daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Daniel Clark of McClellandtown, Pa., Anna and Michael Bosley of Gans, and Darlene and Joseph Stout of Uledi, Pa.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Lenhart and Rita Wolfe, both of Gans; a brother, William McFadden of Fairchance; and a number of nieces and nephews, many of who thought of Russell as a father.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday, August 17, until 1:00 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Sheryn Robinson officiating.

Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
