Pauline Marut Doorley
Pauline Marut Doorley, 88, of Brentwood, Pa., passed away Monday, August 14, 2006, at home in the care of her family.
She graduated from Fairmont College, and taught elementary students in Weirton, West Virginia.
She was a devoted wife of 60 years to her deceased husband Richard B. Doorley.
She was an avid reader, artist, (who painted her own Christmas cards), and enthusiastic Steeler fan. You dared not phone her during a game.
She loved to shop for clothes, go out to eat, see a good movie, (she was a movie aficionado). She loved good gossip and a lively family debate. She was also an accomplished seamstress; making quilts, pillowcases and her children’s clothes.
Pauline was a member of St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church, Brentwood, Pa., for 50 years and remained a devout Catholic all her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, her parents, John and Sophia Marut, and two brothers, Stanley and Tony.
She took pride in all of her family and their accomplishments, and of course, was the family historian.
She will be greatly missed by her children: David Doorley and his long time partner, Brian Rohleder, Patricia Doorley Wagle and husband, William, Daniel Doorley and his wife, Karen, and Richard V. Doorley and his wife, Sharon; along with grandchildren: Sam Doorley, Jessica Zele, Aaron Wagle, Zachary Wagle, Christopher Doorley, Graham Doorley, Shannon Maples and Leslie Cugini; great-grandchildren: Angelique Millan, Persephone Maria Wagle, Anthony Cugini, Carter Cugini and Elijah Maples.
The family will receive friends in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, August 18, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., when a Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow with a graveside service at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
