John L. Erjavek

John L. Erjavek, age 82, of Dilliner, Pa., passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 20, 2006, at home. He was born June 15, 1924, in Dilliner, Pa., the son of John Erjavek and Angela Pearl Zalar Erjavek.

John was the owner of Erjavek’s Restaurant in Dilliner for 43 years.

He was also a coal miner who retired in August of 1989 from Duquesne Light in Greensboro, Pa.

John was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 6310, a veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army and a member of Saint Hubert Roman Catholic Church in Point Marion, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie Guzy Erjavek on June 15, 2004, and by his sister, Agnes Erjavek.

He is survived by two sons: John Erjavek and his wife, Terri, of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Robert Erjavek and his wife, Debbie, of Dilliner; two daughters: Diane Erjavek of Dilliner and Denise Erjavek of Dilliner; four grandchildren: Kari Erjavek, John Erjavek, Bob Erjavek and Andy Erjavek; and two brothers: Frank Erjavek of Smithfield, Pa., and Edward Erjavek of Lytle Creek, California.

Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, 15 Main Street, Point Marion, Pa., on Tuesday, August 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 23, until 10:30 a.m. when brief prayers will be said in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Saint Hubert Roman Catholic Church, Point Marion, with the Rev. Father Joseph L. Sredzinski as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.

Parish Rosary will be recited in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
