Helen M. Piatti Valerio, 74 years, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, August 19, 2006, in Mount Macrina Manor. She was born March 11, 1932, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Eugene Piatti and Violet Miller Piatti.

She was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa., and the Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Dominick L. Valerio, and the following brothers and sisters: Frank Piatti, Eugene Piatti Jr., Emma Katherine Cunningham, Sara Jane Todd, William Piatti and Alvin Piatti.

She is survived by her children: Dominick T. Valerio and his wife, Edith, of Palmdale, California, Anita M. Tobal and her husband, Michael, of Hopwood, Pa., Regina Walker and her husband, Michael, of Germantown, Maryland, and Margaret “Renee” Valerio of Uniontown, Pa.; eight grandchildren: Jessica Valerio, Emily Valerio, Brian Tobal, Jonathan Tobal, Jennifer Risenhoover, Phillip Torchio, Michael Walker and James Stillwagon; two brothers: Victor Piatti and his wife, Judy, of Uniontown, Pa., and Robert Piatti of Alexandria, Virginia; and two sisters: Annabelle Trusio and her husband, Joe, and Rose Rooke all of Hopwood, Pa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where the family will receive friends today from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 23, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of her life follows at 11:30 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F., as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
