Joyce Verbus
Carol Joyce Cupplo Verbus, 59, of Big Brownfield, Pa., died Thursday, August 24, 2006, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 9, 1947, in Wynn, Pa., daughter of the late Joseph Cupplo, Sr. and Elizabeth H. Umbel Cupplo.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Frank Verbus, Sr. and brothers, Joseph Cupplo, Jr. and Gary R. DeWitt.
She was an avid musician who enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
Surviving are her two granddaughters: Shannon and Sabrina Verbus; sisters: Doris Zigler, Nancy Batek, Ruth Ann Hebda, Bonnie Muse, Leisa Mitchell and Shelba Tedesco; brothers: Robert DeWitt, Jack Cupplo, Harry Cupplo, Rocco Cupplo and a special brother-in-law, John Mitchell. A special place will be held in the hearts of all of her nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, August 28, 2006, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the Brownfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Costolo officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Georges Township, Pa.
