Theft reported
According to state police at Uniontown, someone Friday removed a brass donation box containing about $20 from Appalachias Helping Hands, located in the old Faris Carpet building in North Union Township. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The donations are used for gasoline for the volunteers’ vehicles to transport food and clothing to the needy.

Harassment charged
State police at Uniontown charged Nathen E. Williams, 20, of Mill Run, with harassment, criminal mischief and underage consumption of alcohol following an incident at 10:45 p.m. Thursday in which Williams allegedly punched Amanda A. Bryte, of Mill Run and broke her glasses.

Bikes stolen
Two bicycles were taken from near the back porch of 100 Mark Drive, Unit 7, Smithfield Tuesday.
According to state police at Uniontown, the 20-inch bikes, one red and white with the word “Wipeout” on the crossbar and the other green and silver with a black seat, were taken from behind the home of Linda Butler of Smithfield. The incident was reported Tuesday around 3:30 p.m.

Mailbox damaged
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Uniontown, a 15-year-old male damaged a mailbox owned by Daniel Swaney of Ashby Ford Road, Smithfield, with a baseball bat. The incident occurred Wednesday at 9 p.m.

Harassment reported
A Belle Vernon man was charged with assault/harassment by state police Wednesday after allegedly striking another man in the face after an argument at Westmoreland Pain Management in Unity Township.
Charged was Joseph LaMacchia of Webster Hollow Road, Belle Vernon. He allegedly hit James Corbitt of Clarksburg, W. Va.

A 15-year-old boy told city police that three black, male juveniles assaulted him as he was walking on the tracks near the Uniontown football stadium. The incident occurred around 8:19 p.m. Friday.
Police noted the boy had a visible injury to his mouth, but refused medical treatment. His mother took him home.

Quad stolen
Albert David Thorpe of Uniontown told state police that someone stole his quad from a location on South Mount Vernon Avenue. The incident occurred between 8:30 and 11 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 724-439-7111.

Tire stolen
Cheryl Ann McFarland told state police that someone stole a tire from her vehicle between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 6:15 a.m. Thursday from a location on South Mount Vernon Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 724-439-7111.

Mary Jones of 84 Lincoln St. told city police that she believes that someone known to her took $300 in change, a tie tack and a gold cigarette lighter from her home.
The incident was reported Friday at 3:57 p.m. and remains under police investigation.

Money taken
William Bullock of Ruffsdale told state police at Greensburg that a man he knows took money from his wallet on Aug. 8 while he was at Apt. 212, Building 3, Huntingdon Village Apartments.
The amount of money taken was not disclosed, according to the police report.

One person injured
One person received minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Hill Street at Brown Street in Everson Friday afternoon.
Police reported the crash between vehicles driven by Edward Kriger of Everson and Timothy Greenawalt of Scottdale occurred at 3:35 p.m.
Greenawalt received minor injuries, according to the police report.

Weapons violation
State police at Uniontown arrested Rocky Dale Nichelson, of 605 Clinton Road, Springfield Township, for allegedly attempting to purchase a firearm although he is prohibited from doing so.
Police noted Nichelson also had several outstanding warrants in Fayette and Westmoreland counties for driving under the influence.
Nichelson was arrested at his home Thursday and committed to the Fayette County Prison.

No injuries
No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 119 at Route 982 Thursday at 11:29 a.m.
According to state police at Uniontown, a 17-year-old male made a left turn onto Route 119 without yielding the right-of-way to a vehicle driven by Jason Whipkey, no age or address listed, who was traveling across the intersection. The 17-year-old was cited for making a left turn without yielding and for driving alone on a learner’s permit.
