Louis Marcozzi
Louis Marcozzi, 84, of Monessen, Pa., died Sunday, August 27, 2006, in Havencrest Nursing Center. He was born in East Pike Run Township, on December 28, 1921, the son of the late Stephen and Mary Della Mea Marcozzi.
Mr. Marcozzi grew up in East Pike Run Township and was a graduate of Redstone High School.
He had been a resident of Monessen since 1959 and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army Company B 594th Signal Air Warning Battalion.
He was a retired heavy machine operator having worked for 45 years at Maple Creek Mine.
Mr. Marcozzi was an avid golfer, having enjoyed playing a round of golf with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Masci Marcozzi; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis A. and Vickie Marcozzi of Salina, Kansas; a daughter, Lynn Ann Marcozzi of Purcellville, Virginia; three brothers, Benjamin Marcozzi and wife Angela of Fairmont, West Virginia, Marvin Marcozzi and wife Mary from Uniontown and Earnest Marcozzi and wife Marian Rae of Ellenton, Florida, a sister, Amelia Ann McMinn and husband Gene of Mentor, Ohio; a grandson, Louis Anthony Marcozzi II, three sisters-in-law, Mildred Masci and Loretta DiBiaso, both of Monessen, Pa. and Ada Marcozzi of Granttown, West Virginia, two brothers-in-law, Adam Masci and Lawrence Masci and wife Rite, all of Monessen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen, (724-684-8750) on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2006, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. Blessing in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen, PA 15062.
