Frances T. Mohney
Frances T. Mohney, 95, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006, in the Mountain View Specialty Care Center in Greensburg, Pa. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was born January 30, 1911, in Vanderbilt, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Lulu Pearl (Addison) Patterson.
She was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She resided for many years in California, Pa., New Port Ritchie, Fla., and in Greensburg, Pa. She remained a member of the United Methodist Church throughout her life.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents and three husbands, Seward Bowman Funk (1964), Edward Steeves (1976), and Wilfred Mohney (1997); as well as two brothers, Lester and Donald Patterson, two sisters, Vera Shives and Pearl Haas, a daughter, Patricia Hughes, and grandson, Raymond Hughes also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Peggy Ann Stewart of Cumberland, Md., and Maureen L. Canick of Washington, D.C. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Robert E. Stewart and wife, Beverly, Carla Stewart-Kessler, Mark B. Stewart, Todd P. Stewart, Thomas M. Canick and wife, Michelle, Frances Ann Glendening, Mary Lou Burton, Tricia Korenchen and Georgia Rae Hughes. There are numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., on Friday, September 1, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 1 p.m. on Saturday, when services will be held in the funeral home with Rev. Norman C. Hunt officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
