Rev. Mann to speak at St. Paul AME
St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Uniontown announces the Rev. Dr. Loren Mann, founder and senior pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church Inc. in Pittsburgh, will be guest speaker for the 6 p.m. service on Sunday, Dec. 10. Pentecostal Temple Church Inc. is a local church with a global ministry, a church that seriously embraces the command of Jesus Christ to “go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” The church is an independent assembly affiliated with the Church of God in Christ Inc., headquartered in Memphis, Tenn. Mann has been in the ministry for more than 30 years, receiving his education at the University of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
Under Mann’s leadership, Pentecostal Temple owns and operates radio station WGBN AM 1150, Pittsburgh’s full-time gospel music station.
A respected, former broadcast journalist, Mann was employed as an anchor/reporter for WPXI-TV, Channel 11, the Pittsburgh affiliate of NBC. His career in the news business spanned more than 20 years at Channel 11 alone.
Prior to that, Mann provided journalistic support at KDKA Radio and television for 10 years.
Since retiring from Channel 11 in September 1996, Mann has been in full-time ministry. He is senior pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church in Pittsburgh, a congregation he founded in 1971. His ministry is synonymous with spiritual, inspirational and visionary leadership. Called to preach the Gospel while a junior in high school, he appeared to be destined for a unique future. Officials said, “The uniqueness of his gifts and contributions are constantly manifested through his ministry.’
