The 2006 Give-A-Christmas fund now stands at $3,060, with $170 more in donations coming into the campaign that benefits the Salvation Army. “Thank you so much for participating,’ said Sparkle, the Christmas star. “Remember that we want to raise $40,000 for the Salvation Army to help people in your neighborhoods so it’s important that everyone becomes involved.’

The latest donations came from Uniontown, Cardale, Hibbs and Newell.

They included the following nice notes.

“Merry Christmas Sparkle and thank you for helping so many families,’ wrote Ed and Jody Yauger of Uniontown.

“Dear Sparkle, Hope you meet your goal. God bless,’ Catherine Myers of Hibbs wrote.

The deadline for donations is noon Dec. 22. The final total will be reported in the Christmas Eve edition of the newspaper.
