Malissa was born on August 3, 1973, to Belford and Gloria Austin.
Melissa received Christ at the age of nine and was Baptized at the Bible Baptist Church in Uniontown, Pa.
Malissa graduated from Brownsville Area High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Cuyahoga Community College.
Malissa taught at Hope Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.
She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved children: Monique Rivera and Dasani Austin Golston; mother, Gloria (Ford) Austin; father, Belford Austin; father-in-law, Pete Rivera; brother, Michael Ford; sister, Michelle Ford; maternal grandmother, Lillie Ford; paternal grandparents, Rheta Hayes and William Madison; niece, Natosha Grahm; nephew, Bruce Ganaway Jr.; uncles: Walter Johnson, Larry Ford, Gary Ford, John Ford, Richard Ford and Darrin “Keith) Ford; aunts: Anna Mae Ford, Arlene Ford, Regena Ford and Gale Madison; Great Aunts: Annie Benberry and Sharon Johnson; numerous cousins and a host of family friends.
Friends will be received at the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, December 6, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service.
Interment will follow.
