Arlene Conn Koon
Arlene Conn Koon, age 77, of Point Marion, Pa., passed away quietly Thursday, December 7, 2006, in the Point Manor Personal Care Home. She was born January 29, 1929, in Masontown, Pa., where she was raised, daughter of the late Arleigh and Josephine Fast Conn.
A 1947 graduate of Masontown High School, she was a faithful and lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Point Marion and the Ladies Anti-Can’t Sunday School Class.
A wonderful mother and homemaker, Arlene enjoyed making her home a special place of warmth and comfort for her loving family and many friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Oehrn W. Koon, whom she married on September 21, 1949; her four children and their spouses: Dr. Arnold and Barbara Koon of Masontown, Pa., Donna and Timothy Leckey of Uniontown, Pa., Kathy and Brian Gallagher of Lewisberry, Pa., and Lori and Kevin Dennis of Smithfield, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Courtney Koon Weber and husband Craig, Michael Koon and wife Michelle, Hillary Jordan, Kiley Leckey, Colby Leckey, Garret Dennis and Cassie Dennis; three great-grandsons: Thomas, Marcus and Matthew Weber; a sister, Betty Conn of Valencia, Pa.; and a brother, Joseph Conn and his wife Sara of Uniontown, Pa.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from Noon to 2 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, December 11, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Donald Walls officiating assisted by Pastor Kathy Griffith.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
