Bertha Manes Micozzi Santella
Bertha Manes (Micozzi) Santella of Masontown, Pa., died Thursday, December 7, 2006. She was born December 17, 1904, in Gates, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Umberto Manes and Guardati Micozzi Rye.
Bertha was the wife of the late Pompeo Santella.
Mrs. Santella was a longtime member of the All Saints Roman Catholic Church and belonged to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and by the following brothers and sisters: Orland M. Rye, Nell Cagelli, Anthony Rye, Albert Micozzi Rye, Eugene Micozzi Rye, Frances Tipping and Arnold Rye.
Surviving brothers and sisters are: James Rye and wife Frances, Florida, and Virginia Rye Micole and husband Albert, Masontown, Pa.
Surviving are her three children: Edward P. Santella and wife Dorothy, Dominguez Hills, California, William D. Santella and wife Dolores, Masontown, Pa., and Eleanore S. Anton, Stratford, Connecticut; six grandchildren: Mark Anton and Patricia Anton Pekari, Connecticut, Dennis Santella and Lisa Santella, Masontown, Pa., David Santella, Powhaten, Virginia, Ricky Santella, Dominguez Hills, California; and four great-grandchildren: Marisa Anton, James Anton, Craig Santella and Alex Santella.
Friends will be received today, December 10, 2006, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church at 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., where a Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 11, 2006, at 11:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 12 Noon in ALL SAINTS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, Masontown, with the Rev. Father John M. Butler as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to All Saints School, 101 South Washington Street, Masontown, PA 15461.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 6 p.m.
