Expressway construction to affect traffic
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced that ongoing construction of the Mon-Fayette Expressway will affect traffic throughout the week at the junction of Route 51 and Route 119 in North Union Township. Officials said motorists should expect delays at the junction and said traffic would be most congested between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 6 p.m. Thursday. The commission also announced that the temporary access road from Route 51 to Old Pittsburgh Road will be closed to all motorists except emergency vehicles.
The ramp connecting Route 51 north with Route 119 south will be closed Wednesday and Thursday with a detour to the Connellsville Street exit.
