California Man cited

Nathan Curry, 21, of Washington was cited for disorderly conduct after a disturbance at a California Borough bar at 10:30 p.m. Friday, boroughpolice said.

California police said Christopher Hartle, 19, of Punxsutawney was cited for disorderly conduct following an incident at the Jefferson Apartments in the borough at 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Four charged

Jeffery T. Merlin, 19, David Writ, 19, and Shane Michael Goydich, 19, all of North Huntingdon, along with John William Snyder, 20, of Irwin, were each charged with simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and underage drinking following an altercation that occurred at a bar in California Borough at 9:05 p.m. Nov. 18, borough police said.

Items stolen

State police said a 47-year-old Chestnut Ridge man stole $57 worth of items from the Dollar General store in Redstone Township at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday.

Man charged

Uniontown police said Robert Frazze, 41, of Uniontown was charged with violating a protection-from-abuse order when he visited Kristen Freed of Uniontown at a home on Johnson Avenue at 11:16 p.m. Monday.

Joshua Haines, 22 and Jeffrey Haines, 21, both of Connellsville, along with Joshua Shreve, 21, of Normalville, were each charged with disorderly conduct after an incident on West Main Street in Uniontown at 2:26 a.m. Tuesday, Uniontown police said.

Copper stolen

Derrick Snyder of Uniontown told city police that copper piping was stolen from his home on Clarendon Avenue at 5 p.m. Monday, Uniontown police said.

Man hit

State police are continuing to investigate a Friday accident in which a Confluence man was hit by a car while walking on Route 281. Police said the severity of John B. Stark’s injury was “unknown.” They identified the driver of the vehicle that hit him as Flora M. Humbert of Markleysburg, who was driving a Jeep Cherokee.

Police said Humbert was traveling northbound on Route 281 at 7 p.m. when she hit Stark, who was walking along the road.

Charges pending

State police said a charge of simple assault is pending against a Uniontown man who allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old Uledi girl in Snyder Terrace, Bierer Wood Acres, around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The teen had to be treated at the Uniontown Hospital following the assault, police said.

Theft reported

Terry K. Lilley, 21, of 125 Hill Top Road, Mill Run, told state police that $100 was taken from her purse while she was sleeping on her sofa at home on Dec. 4.

Three cited

State police cited three Uniontown residents – Deborah J. Ermlick, 52; Shannon Ermlick, 28; and James D. Jordan, 34; for harassment after they allegedly got involved in an argument over child custody arrangements at a Snyder Terrace home around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Theft reported

MTS Truck Repair owner Mark Weakland of Smithfield told state police that a truck engine worth about $20,000 was stolen from the 1626 Georges-Fairchance Road business between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Man charged

State police filed charges of driving under the influence against Edward Russman Jr., 26, of Uniontown on Monday. Police pulled Russman over on Nov. 7 at 1:45 a.m. in Continental 2.

North Union Twp.

Man charged

State police charged Daniel Galida, 51, of Uniontown with driving under the influence on Monday, following a 2:50 a.m. traffic stop on Nov. 8.

Springhill Twp.

Door damaged

David A. Shaffer, 45, of Point Marion told state police that the glass windowpane of his storm door was broken on 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Springfield Twp.

Crash reported

State police charged Kevin Greenawalt, 47, with leaving the scene of an accident following a 5:38 p.m. Dec. 7 crash on Route 711 near Sandy Flat Road.

Police said Greenawalt hit cars driven by Charles Donaldson Jr., 24, and Linda Gwynn, 53, and then left the scene. Leah Ferry, 18, was identified as a passenger in Donaldson’s vehicle. Police said no one was injured.

Fairchance

Sticker stolen

Betty Gower, 78, of Fairchance told state police that the registration validations sticker was cut from her license plate sometime between Friday and Saturday.

The car was parked at Wynwood Commons at the time.

Burglary reported

State police said Carl Moore of Dilliner reported that two all-terrain vehicles were stolen from his storage unit at 1402 Gun Club Road between Thursday and Friday.

One of the ATVs was recovered at Oliver Park, the other is a blue and white 2001 Yamaha Raptor.

Accident reported

David W. Brown Sr., 50, of Uniontown sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Jumonville Road at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, said state police. Authorities indicated that Brown swerved to avoid hitting a rock and lost control of his car.

He hit an embankment and tree, and police said the car rolled onto its roof.

Burglary reported

State police said that the Pizza Hut at 8 Oliver Road was broken into sometime between Sunday evening and Monday morning. A safe and the money in the register were taken, police said.

Accident reported

State police at Washington said a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol is pending against a Colliers, W.Va., man who was involved in an accident on Cherry Valley Road on Nov. 29 at 12:13 a.m.

Adam J. McMillen of Jones Mills told state police at Greensburg that someone took stereo equipment from his car.

North Union Twp.

Man charged

State police charged Frank Adam Chiovitti Jr., 20, of Brownsville with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly attacked Brittany L. Walters, 19, of Uniontown at 204 Woodview Terrace around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Chiovitti was lodged in Fayette County Prison after failing to post a $10,000 bond, police said.
