John “Tut” Pechatsko, Jr.
John “Tut” Pechatsko, Jr., 100, of Masontown, Pa., died peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at home. He was born on January 2, 1906, in Bradenville, Pa., son of John Pechatsko, Sr. and Helen (Bosak) Pechatsko.
His parents, wife, Rose V. (Checkle) Pechatsko, one great-grandchild, a sister, Anna Senda, brothers, George, Peter, and Nicholas Pechatsko, and son-in-law, Albert Gardiner preceded him in death.
John was a member of Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, and was a retired coal miner.
Left to cherish his memory are 11 children; daughters: Helen Gardiner of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; Roberta Alborg of Uniontown, Pa., Michele Danega and husband, Vincent of Hesperia, Calif., and Rosemary Homer and husband, Steve of Masontown, Pa.; sons: Andrew Pechatsko and wife, Judy of Mentor, Ohio, John Pechatsko of Youngstown, Ohio, Michael Pechatsko and wife, Delores of Euclid, Ohio, Thomas Pechatsko of Los Angeles, Calif., Steve Pechatsko and wife, Elaine of Canfield, Ohio, David Pechatsko and wife, Pat of Cleveland, Ohio, and Joseph Pechatsko and wife, Shirley of Leonardtown, Md.; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary Purczsky of Cleveland, Ohio; Helen Krant of Cary, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, until 9:45 a.m., when the Panachida Service will be held.
A Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m., at Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church with Rev. Father Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in Saint John’s Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
The Parastas Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
