Frank Pribanich

Frank Pribanich, age 81, of Chippewa Township, Pennsylvania, died Friday, December 8, 2006, in his home. Born February 28, 1925, in Export, Pennsylvania, he was the son of John and Katherine (nee Pribanich) Pribanich. His family then moved to Nemacolin, Greene County, Pa., where he was raised.

Frank was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served in the United States Navy during World War II for three years with the landing craft infantry and was honorably discharged on April 16, 1946.

He enlisted in the United States Army on September 11, 1950, and served for two years. He was stationed at Camp Atterbury with the 470th Military Police Escort Guard Company. He was honorably discharged from the Army on May 25, 1952.

Frank also had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.

He was a Roman Catholic and had been a member of the former Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Chippewa Township.

Frank retired on August 16, 1986, with 34 years of service as a plant security guard from the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Company.

He was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (C.F.U.).

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Pribanich and Rudolph Prebonich.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna Marie Krkuc Pribanich; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cheryl Pribanich; three grandchildren: Scott, Jenna and Steven, all of Allentown, Pa.; five sisters and three brothers-in-law: Mary Lebois, California, Pa., Kathryn Rendina, Masontown, Pa., Josephine and James Jackson, North Huntingdon, Pa., Elizabeth and Ben Glover, Banning, California, and Ann and Walter Blackwell, Pinehurst, North Carolina; a brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Frank and Alice Krkuc, Chippewa Township, Pa., Olga Pribanich, Glassport, Pa., and Barbara Krkuc, Beaver Falls, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

There was no public visitation.), 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 (724-843-1200), Michael E. Hill, Supervisor. The Rev. Father James R. Gretz, Pastor of the Holy Family Parish, officiated at the Blessing Service in the Funeral Home at 1 p.m.

Services and interment followed in Saint Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
