Frances “Fannie” Oberlechner Ryczek
Frances “Fannie” Oberlechner Ryczek, age 81, of Smithfield, Pa., went peacefully to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday evening, December 19, 2006, from her home with her loving family by her side and in her heart. “Fannie” was born July 4, 1925, in Woodside, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of William Oberlechner and Maria Emberger Oberlechner.
“Fannie” was a caring, loving, warm-hearted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. “Fannie” loved to bowl, play the slots and spend time with her family. We will miss her delicious apple pies!
“Fannie” set an example for her Catholic faith and devotion for her family and friends to live by and to help get them through her illness over the past year and a half.
“Fannie” was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Fairchance, Pa., formerly Saint Helen’s Roman Catholic Church in Shoaf, Pa., and was a member of The Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
“Fannie” was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, George Wenger, Tony Burgger, Steve Oberlechner and William Oberlechner, and one sister, Louise Oberlechner.
Left to cherish Fannie’s memory are her husband, Felix E. Ryczek Sr., with whom she would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on December 22, 2006; four children: Felix E. Ryczek Jr. and wife Irene and Raymond C. Ryczek and wife Esther all of Smithfield, Pa., Robert L. Ryczek and wife Angela of South Ranches, Florida, and Rosemary R. Ryczek Parker and husband Gerald of Smithfield, Pa.; grandchildren: Christopher Ryczek, Tammy McMichael and husband Joe, Raymond Ryczek and wife Hayley, Rachel Griffen and husband Chad, Kathryn Giese and husband Nick, Olivia Parker, Gerald “Willie” Parker, Elizabeth “Beth” Ryczek, Courtney Parker and Amanda Ryczek; great-grandchildren: Joey and Caitlyn McMichael, Christal and Rhianna Ryczek, Jacob Giese and Ty Griffen; one loving sister, Clara Hainzer; and three caring brothers: Frank Oberlechner and wife Della, Herman Oberlechner and Edward Oberlechner and wife Anna Mae; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, December 23, 2006, until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, with the Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery.
The Confraternity of Christian Mothers of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church and Saint Helen’s Chapel will recite the Rosary in the funeral home today at 6:30 p.m.
A Wake Service will be held in the funeral home this evening at 8:45 p.m.
Visitation was also held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
