Walter C. Keffer

Walter C. Keffer, age 68, of Monarch, Pa., died Saturday, December 23, 2006, in the Intensive Care Unit at Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, Pa. He was born October 15, 1938, in the home he had lived in his whole life to loving parents, the late James W. and Esther A. Oldland Keffer.

Walter was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to all who knew him.

He was a beloved caregiver to his mother for many years until her passing in 1996.

Walter was a very family-oriented man. During his brief stay in the hospital, his main concern was for his family to not worry about him or his health.

For most of his life he was involved with the arrangements and preparation of the yearly Oldland family reunions.

He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends.

“Walt” was a kind person and a prankster to all who knew him.

Walter is survived by the following brothers: James W. Keffer of Monarch and formerly of the Washington, D.C., area, Clarence W. “Bud Keffer and his wife Cynthia (Langham) of Uniontown, Pa., and John E. Keffer of Monarch, Pa.; and a special niece, Christine R. Keffer and her husband William Reinhard of Uniontown, Pa. He is also survived by several aunts and numerous cousins and friends.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., where Services will be held on Thursday, December 28, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mary Ann Long officiating.

Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
